Caligra Version 1.09 Released
Jan 12, 2007, at 10:11 AM     -LINK-

TOP
Caligra Version 1.09 has been released:
  • Too many updates and corrections to even mention.
  • Corrected Quick Topics area for speed and efficiency.
  • Corrected User Defined Pages and Codes to prevent scrolling inside grid layout to fix a bug wherein data would be overwritten by other codes.
  • Numerous tweaks and fixes in the Publisher.
  • Corrected the size and position of text captions on the Topics Page.
  • Changed the variable ($TOTAL_TOPICS) to reflect TOPICS not TOTAL POSTS.
  • Added variable ($TOTAL_POSTS) to reflect TOTAL POSTS.
  • Removed the “themes.ini” file from the Caligra Installer. It is not nor has it ever been used. The “themedir” in the Caligra.ini file lists where the themes are stored.
  • Corrected a problem on the Main Form that did not scroll buttons when every window item was open.
  • News Items may now have their Topics changed in the News Database Area simply by right-clicking and selecting “Change Topic”. Topic dropdown remembers last topic and will position itself there. Pressing ESC or hitting the cancel button cancels the action.
  • Adjusted the size and positions of windows in the News Database form. Should make it easier to work.
  • Added New Publish : Publish Single Topic - You can now publish just one individual topic from a drop down list of available topics. Available as a click menu or a button.
  • Right-Click “Open Topic In Browser” added to the Database Management Form. Now you can right click and view said topic in your browser choice. Available as a click menu or a button.
  • Added “FTP IMAGE” to the Topics Form. Now when you add new images to your site for topics and add the image locally, you can FTP it automatically to your FTP site.
  • Fixed the Topics Form. You can now one-key-press to go to a particular topic.
  • Fixed the Data on the Topics Form to be correct, now if move in the Topic Grid the text is updated correctly.
  • Added ability to rename Topics. This will rename the topic and change all news database items to match the topic.
  • Eliminated the MENU.DB and the configuration layout for the MENU. This was a carry-over from the old system and is no longer needed. Everyone has some kind of menu and it is now suggested that you use a RIGHT or a LEFT block and position that BLOCK appropriately for your menu. If you want to have a menu outside the scope of a block, create a USER DEFINED or THEME DEFINED code, place your menu in it, and then place that code in your PAGE_LAYOUT, SECTION_LAYOUT, TOPIC_LAYOUT, FILE_LAYOUT and other layout areas. I apologize for any inconveniences but the MENU had both layout AND menu in it and did not work properly.
  • Added Viewable Areas to the BLOCKS. Now you can prevent particular blocks from showing in different sections of your website.
  • Added IsActive to the BLOCKS. Now you can turn blocks on or off if you don't want them viewed.
  • Added FTP IMAGE to the FTP Menu allowing you to FTP a particular image from your local drive to your website IMAGE directory.
  • Fixed CANCEL button on the Current News Form. Now if you press CANCEL and then click NO, it will remain in edit mode. Previously it would save.
  • Added Preference Toggle for “Require Original Author”. If checked, Current News Items cannot be saved if the Original Author is left blank.
  • Added $LINK_GUID variable in the NEWS ITEM LAYOUT. This is used with an (a href=”#($LINK_GUID)”)LINK(/a) to allow you to paste the actual PUBLISH GUID into an article.
  • Removed internal variable ($CURRENT_NEWS) and replaced it with ($BLOG_ITEMS). BLOG_ITEMS can now be used in either PAGE LAYOUT or in BLOCKS.
  • Fixed bug in News Database Form where Moved Items were not moving the Original Author and Original Author Email.
  • Added CANCEL and OK buttons to the Quick Topic Change Form.
  • News Database Form now performs an EM_SCROLL on the News Memo.
  • News Database Form now saves all options in the layout.ini file, including toggles, form size and field size.
  • Added Toggles to News Database Form for easy view of Database GRID Items
  • Fixed the Configuration Forms so that Right Click will select the NODE of the code you are on.
  • Added Toggle in preferences to allow DATE to be displayed on ($BLOG_ITEMS) for Archived Topics.
  • Separated the datasets in Topics from News Database.
  • Fixed a bug in the ATOM and RSS feeds where it was displaying less than the number of articles per day.
  • Style sheet now allows use of all ($) codes.

Caligra Website Update - And Upcomming Caligra 1.09 Features

I have spent some time updating the Caligra Website to the latest version.

I have some modifications that I have to do with the themes and then I will be releasing version 1.09 of Caligra hopefully by Friday.

Thanks for your support!

There are a few more TODO items I have to complete before releasing version 1.09, however, here are a list of items that will be included in 1.09 (subject to change).

Caligra v1.08 Has Been Released
Dec 9, 2005, at 09:30 AM     -LINK-

TOP
Caligra v1.08 has been released:
  • Changed FTP Client to "PASSIVE" Mode and added error dialog.
  • Added “OriginalAuthor” and “OriginalAuthorEmail” to the NEWS table. In addition, added {ORIGINAL_AUTHOR} and {ORIGINAL_AUTHOR_EMAIL} to the publisher for news items. This was done for culling messages or articles from sites where you do not post links back. You can then give credit for original posts.
  • Changed the Current News Form to make sure the dataset was not in Insert or Edit mode when bringing up news for the first time (ie. You run Caligra, open the news and thinks you have modified the data)
  • Modified the Files and File Categories screens to be on tabbed pages. After using this section for the last six months I decided there was just not enough room. They are now on tabbed pages separate from each other. This should make it easier to update and add files to your site.
  • Fixed the Preferences area. Now when you click a preference area the highlighting and back panel is now correct.
  • Increased the size of the HTML Editor from 65535 to 50000000 bytes.
  • Fixed the SAVE Button in Topics - if you do not have a topic name you cannot save.
  • Added Documentation for several areas of Caligra.
  • Modified the Select / Create Database Screen. Did not change any functionality, just fixed the screen and made it properly sizeable. Eventually I will be modifying this section to better show current databases and the proper manipulation of databases. For now this section works.
  • Increased the size and font size of the Subject Line in the Current News.
  • Added the Sectional Name to the {PAGE_TITLE} section of the HEADER. This way Sectional Pages will be titled with your website name followed by the name of your Sectional. This aids in searches such as on GOOGLE by finding the actual page name rather than text found within the page. This increases GOOGLE hits.
  • You can no longer save blank Sectionals.
  • Moved the HTML Editor menu items to the front of the menu. Makes them easier to use.
  • Changed colors of primary screen and menu screen.
  • Updated fonts in certain areas of inherited forms.
  • Changed menu pattern around to be “prettier” so it doesn't look like a squished groupbox.
  • Fixed the File Categories and Files page to align fields properly.

Caligra V1.07 Has Been Released
Oct 21, 2005, at 10:53 AM     -LINK-

TOP
Caligra v1.07 has been released:
  • Caligra is no longer BETA.
  • Added (OL) and (UL) ordered and un-ordered lists to the HTML Editor.
  • Added a new News Layout database field "NewsDateLayout". Caligra was using the field "TopicHeaderLayout" as the NewsDateLayout. This was a carry-over from when Caligra was created four years ago. It never was right. You must now go and add a NewsDateLayout in order for your {HEADER} to work appropriately. TopicHeaderLayout now allows to add a the variable {TOPIC_HEADER} to your Page Layout. TopicHeaderLayout will only display in the Page Layout when topics are being created. Thanks Huey, a very nice addition.
  • Added {QUICK_TOPIC} to the list of variables for your layouts. Wherever {QUICK_TOPIC} is found, it will run through the Topics using the QUICK TOPIC LAYOUT section. This way you can put a (OL) {QUICK_TOPIC} (/OL) in your menu, and (LI) (A href="{TOPIC_URL}") {$TOPIC_NAME} (/A) (/LI) in your QUICK TOPIC LAYOUT and you will get a bulleted list of available topics.
  • Added {QUICK_SECTION} to the list of variables for your layouts. Same as {QUICK_TOPIC}.
  • Fixed a bug in the User Pages. No items in the database - Press Delete - Error.
  • Fixed a bug in getting the image directory for Current News.
  • Added RSS 2.0 XML Feed to Caligra. It is only available for the main page.
  • Added HTML URL formatting (same as Quick URL Form) to the HTML Editor. Now you can right-click and format urls off highlighted text in the HTML editor.
  • Added ATOM 0.3 XML Feed to Caligra. This is not perfect yet since news items can be so dynamic and XML is so staunch.
  • Minor modifications to HTML items in the HTML Editor portion.
